William Leslie Long Announces His Candidacy For

McLennan County Commissioner Pct 3

Pledges to Bring a Fiscally Conservative Voice to the Commissioners’ Court

(West, TX) --- West resident, W. Leslie Long, announces his candidacy in the Republican Primary for McLennan County Commissioner Precinct 3. Long is a Baylor graduate and McLennan County resident for over 20 years. He is a business entrepreneur, real estate broker, and mortgage loan officer.

“I desire to serve my community where my education, experience and business expertise can best be utilized,” Long said. “As a loan officer, I see firsthand how property taxes are affecting mortgage payments county-wide. Controlling budgetary issues and taxes are vital for McLennan County to remain an affordable place to live.”

Long also believes in placing an emphasis on rural road and bridge projects to keep the public safe. “Roads and bridges in the rural parts of the county are more susceptible to deferred maintenance compared to busier parts of the county,” Long said. “With the help of the residents in rural areas, we can identify and repair issues before it becomes a major problem.”

Long added, “I am versed in the business aspects of the Commissioner’s role and believe a fiscally conservative, yet pro-business voice would be beneficial to the future of the county. I look forward to using my background in small business, real estate and finance in service of McLennan County and its residents.”
